What your material is worth
Suggested prices per kg, from the metal inside and what buyers pay today. The final price is agreed on each lot.
Price per kg of material
Each estimate starts from typical metal content at world prices, then applies what recyclers and refiners actually pay. Clean metals and standard motherboards are set so sellers net about a Malaysian scrap-yard price after Verdant Ore's fee; refinery-grade boards and processors are set at 85% of refiner prices. Ranges shown are typical Malaysian scrap-yard prices, and estimates will be tuned to real Verdant Ore sales over time. References are at the bottom of this page.

Marketplace fee
Whole-lot rate · buyer and sellerBuyers pay a fee on top of the seller's price; business sellers pay a fee on the same bands, deducted from their proceeds. The rate is set by the value of each purchase and applies to the whole purchase, so larger lots pay a lower rate for both buyer and seller. On variable lots, buying more (or the whole lot) moves you into a lower band. Household lots pay one flat rate each side at every size. Buyer Pro members pay a lower buyer rate in every band.

Materials on Verdant Ore
Everything you can list, and what a typical kilogram contains. Boards, processors, memory, connectors, device parts and clean metals carry a Verdant Ore estimate. Solar panels, whole devices, cables, batteries and mixed loads vary too much, so the seller sets the price or opens bidding.
Photos are illustrative (Pexels). Metal content is a published average, not an assay of your lot, and estimates move with world prices. See Prices.
From listing to collection
Verdant Ore connects people with e-waste and recyclables to the recyclers and refiners who use them. Priced lots are valued from metal content, so both sides start from the same number.
Six steps, start to finish
When is a lot inspected?
Every listing needs photos; some lots are also checked by Verdant Ore before an offer can be accepted.

Frequently asked
Who can list material?
Any business, installer, collector or household in Malaysia. Overseas companies can trade clean copper and aluminium scrap; other materials are Malaysia-only for now. Across borders, the seller arranges the export permit and the buyer the import permit.
Does it cost anything?
Listing is free; Verdant Ore charges only on a sale. Buyers pay a marketplace fee on top, sellers a seller fee from proceeds. Rates fall as the purchase value rises and apply to the whole purchase, so whole lots cost less per kg. Household lots pay one flat rate. You see exact amounts before you confirm.
Do I need a licence to sell e-waste?
Households can sell their own used devices. Businesses with scheduled waste (such as SW110 e-waste) must transfer it only to a DOE-licensed facility or contractor, with an e-Consignment Note, under the Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations 2005.
How is the price set?
We value the typical metal content (from published research) at today's world prices, then apply a Verdant Ore estimate factor: the share recyclers and refiners typically pay after refining, losses and margin. Clean metals and standard motherboards are set so sellers net about a Malaysian scrap-yard price; refinery-grade items are set at 85% of refiner prices. Each listing shows what the wider market pays. Sellers can list at the estimate, add 5, 10, 15 or 20%, set their own price, or open bidding from the estimate + 4%. Solar panels and highly variable products are priced by the seller or by bidding. See Prices.
Does a small lot need licensed transport?
It depends on who sells, not the weight. Business scheduled waste (such as SW110 e-waste) needs a DOE-licensed transporter and an e-Consignment Note even for a few kilograms. Household e-waste isn't scheduled waste today, so households can use normal transport, though new rules are being drafted.
Does Verdant Ore handle payment or transport?
Transport, yes. The buyer pays and chooses: a Verdant Ore carrier licensed for that waste (carriers quote, the buyer books), or their own logistics partner for a 5.5% fee on the lot value, which must also be DOE-licensed for business scheduled waste. Payment through Verdant Ore is coming; for now Verdant Ore coordinates settlement. Weigh on a calibrated scale at handover.
Which currency do I pay in?
Trades between two Malaysian-registered parties are in ringgit (RM), as Bank Negara Malaysia requires, with US dollars shown for reference. Trades with an overseas party are in US dollars. The exchange rate is fixed when the seller accepts.
Can I buy part of a lot?
Yes, if it's a variable lot: buy any weight from the seller's minimum up to what's left, at the same price per kg. Whole lots and bid lots sell in full. Buying more lowers your fee rate.
Who pays for inspections?
Video inspections are free. For on-site visits, Seller Premium members pay nothing (within a yearly allowance); other sellers pay 70% of the cost, capped at 1% of the lot value and deducted from proceeds. If a buyer asks for a visit on a lot up to , the buyer pays it in full (). If a lot fails, the seller pays the full cost. See Membership.
When is a lot inspected?
Every lot needs photos. Verdant Ore inspects every business lot and household lots above . Repeat listings of the same item within 30 days count as one lot, and photos matching another listing also trigger a check. Lots over are always inspected on-site; on smaller lots, buyers can ask for a video or on-site check. Buyers can bid while an inspection is pending, but the seller can't accept until it passes.
Lost access to your email?
Verdant Ore signs you in with a secure link sent to your email, so there's no password to reset. If you've changed your email, sign in with the old one and use Change phone or email in your profile. If you can no longer open the old inbox, contact us and we'll confirm it's you and move your account to a new email.
Who can see my details?
Only Verdant Ore. Buyers see "Business seller" or "Household seller" and your town, never your name or contacts, and you never see theirs. Verdant Ore messages strip out phone numbers, emails and links. See our privacy notice.

Why a marketplace?
Good material is often stuck in the wrong place: rejected boards in a factory, damaged modules at a solar farm, old appliances in a storeroom. Verdant Ore makes it visible so it reaches licensed recyclers and refiners at a fair price, wherever they are.
Why it matters
The world throws out about US$91 billion of metal in e-waste each year, and only 22% is properly recycled.1 Every lot traded on Verdant Ore goes back into manufacturing instead.
Where the name comes from
E-waste is the richest ore above ground: a tonne of circuit boards holds more gold than a tonne of mined rock. Verdant Ore is named for that idea: materials that look spent still carry their value, ready to be recovered and grown back into use.

Version 1.0 · effective 13 October 2026. Please read these terms before you list, buy, bid or carry on Verdant Ore.
1. Who we are
Verdant Ore ("Verdant Ore", "we", "us") is an online marketplace, based in Malaysia, for e-waste and recyclable materials. The company operating Verdant Ore is being registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM); its registered name, registration number and address will be shown here once registration is complete. Until then, contact us through the Contact page.
By creating an account or using Verdant Ore, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy notice. If you use Verdant Ore for a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind that business.
2. Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. Give accurate details, keep them up to date, and keep access to your email (or phone) secure: actions taken through your account are treated as yours. One person or business may hold one trading account unless we agree otherwise. We may ask for proof of identity, company registration (SSM) or licences before you trade.
3. What Verdant Ore does and doesn't do
We provide the platform where sellers list material, buyers send buy requests or bids, and licensed carriers quote for transport. Unless a listing or deal says otherwise, the sale contract is between the buyer and the seller; Verdant Ore is not the buyer or seller.
Trades between two parties registered in Malaysia are priced and paid in ringgit; other trades are priced and paid in US dollars. Amounts shown in a second currency are for reference at the day's rate; the rate for a trade is fixed when the seller accepts. On cross-border trades the seller is responsible for any export permit or approval (including Department of Environment approval for scheduled waste) and the buyer for any import permit; Verdant Ore may restrict which materials can be traded across borders.
Valuations shown on priced listings are estimates calculated from typical metal content, world metal prices and Verdant Ore estimate factors. They are not assays, quotes or guarantees of value.
4. Listing material
You may only list material you own or are authorised to sell. Describe it accurately, including product type, grade, weight, and any hazardous parts such as batteries, and add at least one genuine photo of the actual lot. You may not list stolen goods, radioactive or explosive material, material you are not licensed to hold or sell, or anything whose sale is unlawful in Malaysia. Listings stay anonymous: buyers see "Business seller" or "Household seller" and your town, not your name or contact details.
5. Fees
Listing is free. When a lot sells, Verdant Ore charges:
- a buyer fee, added to the seller's price and shown in every price a buyer sees;
- a seller fee, deducted from the seller's proceeds and shown to the seller before they publish and before they accept;
- an own-logistics fee, payable by a buyer who chooses their own transporter instead of a Verdant Ore-listed carrier, as a percentage of the lot value;
- a buyer-requested inspection fee, payable by a buyer who asks for an on-site inspection where one is not otherwise required.
Current rates are published on the Prices page. The marketplace fee rates that apply to a lot are fixed when it is listed; later changes don't affect it. Fees are exclusive of any tax that applies, which will be added where required by law. We may change fees for future listings by updating the Prices page.
6. Buying, bidding and accepting
A buy request is an offer to buy at the listed price, for the weight you choose (variable lots) or the whole lot. A bid is an offer to buy the whole lot at the amount bid. Bids can't be withdrawn while bidding is open. A sale is agreed when the seller accepts a buy request or the winning bid on Verdant Ore, at which point both sides are bound to complete it on the agreed terms, subject to the material matching its description. A seller can't accept while a required inspection is pending.
7. Inspections
Verdant Ore inspects every business lot, household lots above the published threshold, and lots that look split or duplicated. Lots above the published on-site threshold (currently USD 10,000, or the ringgit equivalent) are inspected on-site. On smaller lots a buyer may ask for a video check or an on-site visit with their buy request or bid; a buyer-requested on-site visit is paid in full by that buyer. Other on-site costs are shared as shown on the Membership page. If a lot fails inspection, the seller pays the full visit cost and the listing is removed. An inspection checks the lot against its listing on the day; it is not a guarantee of grade, metal content or weight at handover.
8. Transport and scheduled waste
The buyer arranges and pays for transport, either by booking a quote from a Verdant Ore-listed carrier or by using their own transporter. Scheduled waste generated by a business (such as SW110 e-waste) must only be transferred under the Environmental Quality Act 1974 and the Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations 2005: by a transporter licensed by the Department of Environment for that waste code, with an electronic consignment note, to a licensed facility. A buyer using their own transporter for scheduled waste must give that transporter's licence number and confirm it covers the waste code. Each party is responsible for its own legal duties; Verdant Ore does not take possession of material.
9. Weighing, payment and handover
Weigh the load on a calibrated scale or weighbridge at handover. Where the weight differs from the listing, the price adjusts pro rata per kg unless both parties agree otherwise in Verdant Ore messages. Until payments through Verdant Ore are available, Verdant Ore coordinates settlement between buyer and seller and invoices its fees; payment instructions are given in the deal and only through Verdant Ore. Never pay to account details sent outside Verdant Ore.
10. Dealing through Verdant Ore
Buyers and sellers who are introduced on Verdant Ore agree to complete that trade, and any further trades between them for 12 months after it, through Verdant Ore, and not to share contact details or arrange deals elsewhere to avoid fees. If a trade is completed outside Verdant Ore in breach of this clause, the fees that would have applied become payable to Verdant Ore, and we may suspend the accounts involved.
11. Messages and conduct
Use Verdant Ore messages for the deal only. Phone numbers, emails, links and app handles are removed automatically and may be reviewed by Verdant Ore. Don't post false or misleading information, harass other users, interfere with the platform's security, scrape it, or use it for anything unlawful.
12. Carriers
Carriers must hold, and keep valid, the Department of Environment licence for every scheduled waste code they quote on, plus any permit and insurance required for the vehicles they use. Verdant Ore checks licences before a carrier can quote and may remove a carrier at any time. Carrier commission and payment terms are provided to carriers when they register and form part of these terms for carriers. A carrier is responsible for the load from collection until delivery.
13. Content and intellectual property
You keep ownership of the photos and descriptions you post and give Verdant Ore a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display them on Verdant Ore and to use them to promote the listing. Verdant Ore's design, software, valuations and content belong to Verdant Ore or its licensors.
14. Liability
Users are responsible for the material they list, buy or carry and for complying with the law. To the extent the law allows, Verdant Ore is not liable for the quality, quantity, legality or safety of material listed by users, for a user's failure to pay or deliver, or for indirect or consequential loss, and Verdant Ore's total liability to you in connection with Verdant Ore is limited to the fees you paid Verdant Ore in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
You agree to compensate Verdant Ore for loss caused by your breach of these terms or of the law in your use of Verdant Ore.
15. Suspension and closing accounts
We may remove listings, or suspend or close accounts, that breach these terms, put other users at risk or are needed to comply with the law. You can close your account at any time through the Contact page; trades already agreed must still be completed.
16. Complaints and disputes
Raise a complaint about a listing, a user or Verdant Ore through the Contact page; we aim to respond within 7 days. If a buyer and seller disagree about a deal, Verdant Ore will review the deal messages, inspection record and weighing evidence and suggest a resolution. Consumers may also bring claims to the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia. These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction.
17. Changes
We may update these terms. The version and effective date are shown at the top of this page, and we will tell account holders about material changes before they take effect. Continuing to use Verdant Ore after that date means you accept the updated terms.
Privacy notice
Version 1.0 · effective 13 October 2026 · issued under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010
This notice explains how Verdant Ore ("Verdant Ore", "we") collects and uses your personal data, as required by Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). The company operating Verdant Ore is being registered with SSM; its registered name and address will be added here once registration is complete.

- Trading details: your listings (product, weight, grade, photos, town and state), buy requests, bids, deals, Verdant Ore messages, inspection records, weighing evidence and fees.
- Transport details: pickup and delivery areas, and for carriers or buyers using their own transporter: company name, Department of Environment and APAD licence numbers, vehicles and states covered.
- Enquiries: what you send us through the Contact page or the company-interest form.
- Technical data: our hosting providers log technical information such as IP address, browser type and time of access to run and secure the service. Your browser stores your sign-in session and display preferences locally. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
2. Why we use it
- to create and secure your account and confirm your email;
- to show your listings, pass buy requests and bids to sellers, and run deals, inspections and transport bookings;
- to calculate and invoice fees and keep business and tax records;
- to check licences and comply with environmental, tax and other legal duties;
- to prevent fraud, fee avoidance and misuse, including reviewing messages that are flagged automatically;
- to answer enquiries and complaints and send you service messages about your account and deals.
We will only send you marketing if you ask for it, and you can stop it at any time.
3. Where it comes from
Mostly from you. We also receive information about you from the other party to a deal (for example deal messages and weighing evidence), from inspectors and carriers working on your lot, and from public registers we use to check companies and licences.
4. Who can see it
- Other users: listings are public but anonymous ("Business seller" or "Household seller" and town). In a deal, the other party sees what is needed to complete it, never your name or contact details. Carriers see pickup and delivery areas, and full addresses only once they are booked.
- Verdant Ore staff who run Verdant Ore, inspections and support.
- Service providers acting for us: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (website hosting), our email delivery provider, and font and code libraries the site loads (Google Fonts, jsDelivr). They may only use the data to provide their service to us.
- Authorities such as the Department of Environment, LHDN or the police, where the law requires it, and professional advisers and any buyer of our business, under confidentiality.
We do not sell personal data.
5. Transfers outside Malaysia
Our database is hosted in Singapore, and our website and email providers may process data in other countries, including the United States. We use providers that protect personal data to a standard comparable to the PDPA, under contract, as section 129 of the PDPA allows.
6. Is it compulsory?
You can browse as a guest without giving us anything. To trade you must give a name and a working email address, and the details needed for each listing, deal or carrier registration. Without them we can't open an account or complete the trade.
7. How long we keep it
Account details are kept while your account is open. Records of deals, fees, inspections and transport are kept for 7 years after the deal to meet tax and company record-keeping duties. Enquiries are kept for 2 years. After that, data is deleted or anonymised.
8. How we protect it
Data is encrypted in transit, and database access rules mean each user can see only their own records and the deals they are part of. Staff access is limited to what they need. If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify the Personal Data Protection Commissioner within 72 hours and tell affected users without undue delay where it is likely to cause significant harm.
9. Your rights
You can ask to see or correct your personal data, ask for a copy in a portable format, limit how we use it (including stopping marketing), or withdraw your consent and close your account. Some records must be kept by law even after you close your account. Send requests through the Contact page; we reply within 21 days. A small fee may apply to access requests where the law allows. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Commissioner (Jabatan Perlindungan Data Peribadi).
10. Children
Verdant Ore is for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
11. Changes and contact
We will post any update here with a new version and date, and tell account holders about significant changes. For any privacy question, contact our data protection contact through the Contact page. If the English and Bahasa Malaysia versions differ, the English version applies.
